Fatboy Electric, Inc. is a Kansas City based electrical contractor and one of the fastest growing and most trusted electrical services providers in the Midwest. Licensed in six states with a team of experienced electricians, we’re here as your go-to solution for petroleum, commercial and industrial electrical services. We provide a worry-free turnkey approach that allows you to focus on running your business, while we handle all of your electrical service needs. We’ve been serving the needs of our clients since 2007 with an emphasis on quality, value, efficiency and customer satisfaction. I’ve been asked about the company name many times. People have guessed I ride a Harley, or it has something to do with my 2X shirts. Here is the real scoop: Many years ago my Uncle Jerry had a fuel oil delivery business up in Coos Bay, Oregon. Now Jerry was a big man, somewhere north of 300 pounds. He was a hard working man with a great sense of humor and a sharp mind. I have to say, I really miss him. Everyone should have an Uncle Jerry in their life. Jerry had a problem: No one seemed able to remember his name. It’s hard to keep a business going if they don’t remember you. One day he overheard a couple of his customers talking. One asked the other, “Who is that guy?” The other customer said, “You know, it’s that fat boy that brings the diesel fuel.” That struck a chord with Jerry. If that’s the way they remember me, he thought, that’s what I’ll go with. He changed his company name to Fatboy Oil Company. The name was easy to remember and it stuck. He did well with his business from then on. When my wife Karen and I decided to start this business we had to come up with a name and it seemed natural to borrow the name from Uncle Jerry and carry on a family tradition. My brother-in-law, Ken, sketched out the beginnings of our logo on a napkin in a restaurant when we told him the name. I refined it into what it is today and then had it trademarked. Between the name, the logo, and the service, people don’t seem to forget us. Thanks for asking! Ben Stallings Owner, Fatboy Electric About Us
